Resumen

El desarrollo de pensamiento computacional viene emergiendo como un área de desarrollo educativo por su relevancia en la resolución de problemas. Sin embargo, es un área que requiere aún de modelos y estrategias para formar estudiantes y evaluar la adquisición de las habilidades relacionadas. Una de esas estrategias es la robótica educativa, en la cual se ofrece una motivación adicional a los niños para la creación y desarrollo de soluciones basadas en software. En este artículo se presenta una revisión de la literatura, en un intento por profundizar en la forma en que varios investigadores perciben la relación entre la Robótica Educativa y el Pensamiento Computacional, mostrando en donde estas dos corrientes confluyen e indagando por la manera en que la primera puede contribuir sobre el desarrollo del segundo. Además, se exponen algunos hallazgos sobre aquellas habilidades de Pensamiento Computacional que se ven afectadas por las actividades con robótica. Finalmente, se abordan algunas críticas relevantes sobre la forma en que estos dos aspectos se integran en la práctica.
