Proyectos de diseño mecánico como herramienta para el desarrollo de competencias transversales en los ingenieros

Abstract

The projects can be used for the acquisition of technical skills and the development of transversal skills as a result of the experiences and challenges overcome during the execution of the project. This article describes the experiences developed in a mechanical design course where through the execution of projects that range from the statement of a need or problem to the construction and use, along with additional tools such as: preparation of academic events and gamification , have allowed to increase the acquisition of technical and transversal competences in the participants such as: better skills for teamwork, work under pressure and greater capacity to respond to unforeseen events. Apart from the improvement of these competences, it has been seen that the use of projects as a learning tool allows to increase the motivation of students and their commitment to face subjects with a deep technical component, such as mechanical design.

Jesús Marcey García Caicedo, Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira

Doctor de la Universidad de Málaga, España (2015) e Ingeniero Mecánico de la Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira, Venezuela (2001). Su principal interés de investigación se centra en el diseño mecánico y la robótica móvil, especialmente en el análisis de la navegabilidad de los robots Skid Steer. Es Profesor Asociado de diseño mecánico y robótica en la Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira y responsable del Laboratorio de Prototipos en esa universidad desde el año 2015.
