Industries are in need of people able to code computer programs, no matter the specialty area. An engineer must be able to portray ideas, test them and create new software applications. The objective of this research is to determine the barriers and sort them in order to create strategies to help and facilitate the development of coding skills in students of different engineering programs. The project was done with students of the second semester of computer systems and electromechanical engineering programs. Students were asked to describe the different barriers they had faced and how they had solved that situation. These descriptions were classified. It is important to highlight that regardless of the students' background, they presented similar barriers.Downloads
