The objective of this article is to describe the process of transformation of the Technology Program in Topography of the University of Quindío, created in 1962, with a curriculum designed by the civil engineer Eduardo Villate Bonilla of the National University and administratively named as the School of Topography. Today, fifty-six years later, it transcends the Technical and Technological fields to emerge in the field of engineering, as a product of the development academic and research evolution of the Program and the teaching group, which has gradually become the most qualified professional nucleus, oriented towards research and theoretical development.
