Notes for rethinking the teaching of computing the anthropological question and the need for a holistic anthropology

The goal of this article is to contribute to the necessary rethinkingof the teaching of IT in the realm of Higher Education. Frequently, IT teachers
are not aware enough of the fact that, in every scientific discipline, and even in
the way it is taught, a certain conception of the world and of the human being
is involved. After a brief critical analysis of the diverse perspectives in which
the anthropological question can be considered, this paper reminds us that both
science and technology should be at the service of humankind and that,
therefore, they should be inspired by a humanistic spirit, breaking with the
modern opposition between sciences of nature and human sciences. Today, this
task is not only necessary but extremely urgent, and the IT teachers cannot be
on the sidelines.
