Abstract

This work addresses the learning for competences issue of agricultural engineering in Colombia. For its implementation the Tuning Europe (2003) and Latin America Tuning (2007) projects were reviewed, as well as other woks made by entities as ICFES-ACOFI (2005) to establish the conceptual framework and specifications of ECAES (Colombian Exam of Quality in Higher Education). The competences of agricultural engineering in Colombia on the basis of the Tuning Latin America model (2007), were defined. The validation of generic and specific competences was conducted by applying a survey via the Web and physically to teachers, students, graduates and employers. It was found that the generic and specific competences received support by reviewers once all were rated on the degree of importance above three in a scale of 1 to 4. Regarding the degree of realization, the values were below the level of importance, what stands out a good level of criticism and demand on the part of respondents.
