Abstract

This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) explores the role of Virtual Reality (VR), Immersive Learning Technologies, and Human-Centered Design within the framework of Industry 5.0. Through a comprehensive review of peer-reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2024, the SLR identifies and analyzes key trends, applications, and challenges in the use of VR for industrial training, workforce development, and operational efficiency. The review focuses on three major themes: VR as a training tool, the implementation of immersive simulation technologies, and the integration of human-centered design in industrial and educational settings. Findings indicate that VR significantly enhances both technical skills and user engagement across industries, providing cost-effective, immersive environments that improve safety and collaboration between humans and machines. Despite the growing adoption of these technologies, the review identifies several challenges, including cost, accessibility, and the need for more user-friendly interfaces. Future research should focus on reducing implementation costs, improving VR technology, and expanding its application to new sectors such as healthcare and environmental management. This SLR aims to provide insights into how VR and related technologies are reshaping industry practices, offering a clear framework for future exploration in Industry 5.0.
